a little inspiration.

I don't consider myself a creative writer nor do I usually like to think that what I have to write is always worth reading (consider yourself warned) but I came across a friend's blog today that inspired me. I guess when I think of blogs I always generalize them as a place for "writers" to share their creative juices, love poems, witty thoughts, etc. Having some close friends who meet this criteria- I usually just enjoyed their thoughts or blogs, if you will.

However the blog I came across today didn't intimidate me so much (minus the fact that she's a high school english teacher with obvious writing skills). Her thoughts were on everyday occurrences such as weekly Tuesday meetings, parent teacher conferences, fire alarms...sisters. It was just little stories in life that made myself and most likely others smile. I like to think I could do the same because when it comes down to it smiling is the greatest and who wouldn't want to be able to make another person smile? And if you can't appreciate the little things in life (like a fire alarm story from a friend's blog) that can make us smile then how do you get through those ridiculous Tuesday afternoon meetings or rainy days or long lines?

With that said, I'm not exactly sure where this blog will take me or you. And I can promise you'll find grammatical errors- you know the kind that are sometimes embarrassing. But I do hope that occasionally you might smile...maybe even laugh or at least make a small "hmph" with a little smirk.
